It’s been an absolutely fantastic weekend to be a Whovian… A made-for-television movie, “An Adventure in Space and Time”, on Friday night, all about the creation of Doctor Who and the actor who played the first Doctor, William Hartnell, followed by “The Day of the Doctor” yesterday, followed by this little short from the BBC, directed by Peter Davison, who played the 5th Doctor (and who is also the father of the 10th Doctor’s wife, Georgia Moffett, who also played the Doctor’s daughter.)
It’s a fun little short, featuring Davison, Colin Baker (6th Doctor), and Sylvester McCoy (7th Doctor), along with John Barrowman, and a bunch of other notable cameos.
Like I said, it’s fun…Just a little extra on top of all the Whovian goodness delivered by the BBC folks this weekend.
Now, here’s a bit of a supposition that may be a spoiler, so you have properly been warned:
The Day of the Doctor must have taken place in a timeline that occurred AFTER the 11th Doctor has regenerated. How else could the 12th Doctor’s cameo be in there? (Don’t tell me you missed it.) Odd how that one little shot did so much to convey what the new Doctor will be like…And frankly, I don’t think he’s going to be someone to mess with!
Yep, a great weekend to be a Whovian.
